Rachel has been practicing yoga for over 20 years having also explored other group fitness classes such as pilates, spin and barre. It wasn’t until she took her first class at Radiant Hot Yoga in 2014 that she had finally found her yoga home and quickly became certified through (RHY Yoga Alliance 200 hour) to teach at the age of 40.
After suffering through years of low back pain, MRI’s, bulging discs, even unable to walk for weeks at a time. Yoga quickly became much more
then a way to get fit, it became a practice of pain relief and a tool to live a normal life by improving flexibility and mobility of the spin, hips, and back all with the added benefit of clearing the mind and releasing stress and anxiety. Her classes are challenging, of course, but always with an emphasis of having FUN and enjoying each moment as if it was our last while encouraging each student to go beyond the physical postures and to find their inner strength.
It is always my intention to bring JOY to each class, smiles, fun and energy. I adore this group setting of yoga, yes yoga is a practice between you and you but we can’t help but affect each other in the hot room. It’s that sense of community and the knowledge that regardless of where you are in your practice, regardless of age, size, background you are not alone and are not being judged it’s a wonderful feeling of acceptance and belonging.”
