Yoga is magical and healing no matter what time of day you do it. There is really something to be said for the art of doing your practice first thing when you wake up in the morning. The benefits of Hot Yoga are abundant and are for everybody:

1. Encourages better sleep habits

Knowing that you are going to wake up early and practice in the morning impacts how you prioritize your sleep. We all know how important sleep is to your health, your morning practice will help you get the rest you need and regulate your sleeping patterns.

2. Sets your breath for the day

Starting your day in asana means that you are starting your day cultivating breath awareness. You may have a million things going on, but by setting the tone with your morning practice, you are more likely to tune into your breathing for the rest of your day.

3. Sets your mental tone

If you start your day by calming your body and your mind through asana, there is a greater chance that you will maintain a calm mind throughout your day. Starting in mindfulness can lead to a whole day of mindfulness.

4. Encourages health all day

Once you have done your practice, you will most likely be feeling good. You will be more tuned in and connected with your body and with your mind. This means that you will be starting your day off with an awareness of how you feel and how you want to feel. With this, you will be more likely to make healthful choices in your eating, sleeping, thinking, and in your speaking because you will have set that tone first thing in your day.

I have been practicing at Radiant for probably close to 2 years now. I normally take the 6 a.m. Power class and always look forward to my weekly treat of the 80 minute 8:00 a.m. class on Saturdays! There are some wonderful, caring, motivating instructors and I enjoy being able to let my mind go and follow a practice that I know well. The heat in classes can really vary, especially at 6:00 a.m. I love it super hot!! I find the studio to be clean, comfortable and often crowded, but it is to be expected. The workout is addicting!!”
