Tonya Torres has a passion for holding a safe space for others to process, grow, and unite. Tonya completed her Master of Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Southern California and has been a practicing Clinician working with at risk youth that are currently incarcerated ever since. Tonya felt impacted at an early age by the many hardships she had going on all around her, filled with questions and love in her heart she made a commitment to finding out some of those answers, to working on her own healing process, and to help as many people she could along the way.
Tonya has always lived a very active lifestyle and identifies her first love as being running and all activities that take her to the outdoors and in nature. Tonya practiced some Hatha yoga throughout her college years but never felt a true connection to her practice until 2017 when she found herself at Radiant Hot Yoga.
Tonya describes the feeling she got after her first class as transformative, she says it was challenging in more ways than one and she could not wait to return. Quickly thereafter she discovery that this beautiful yoga practice had a strong healing component that she hoped to learn more about and incorporate in her clinician work.
Tonya completed her 200 hour Teacher Training in the Fall of 2017 and began teach shortly after. Yoga started out for Tonya as another form of self-care and decompressing but it has developed into another way for Tonya to share her passions for helping others heal, connect, and thrive. Tonya has noticed her own growth along this journey as yoga has helped her open up her heart to love and connection all around her and allowed her to find gratitude for all experiences on her journey.
