If you ask Lisa about why she loves hot yoga so much, the first thing she will say is that it saved her life. She has always loved being active and exercising for the mental high, but as a previous chronic pain sufferer, the high impact of activities such as running and kickboxing eventually began to cause more injuries than benefits. She walked (really hobbled is more accurate) into a hot yoga studio 13 years ago hoping to find some physical relief and walked out finding so much more.
It is so incredibly difficult to find the right words to convey how much my yoga journey has changed my life and shaped the person I am today. It has pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me comfortable with the uncomfortable. I’ve developed so much more patience, self-acceptance, gratitude, and even wisdom. I think one of the absolute best parts about my yoga journey is the loving community I’ve become a part of. I love meeting and finding commonalities with so any unique people from all walks of life.”
Lisa initially decided to participate in the Radiant Hot Yoga Teacher Training / 200 Hour Yoga Alliance certification to deepen her practice, but with each subsequent week of teaching training, became increasingly drawn to the desire to share her love of yoga with others. She feels incredibly blessed to have found her second home at Radiant and is inspired everyday by her fellow yogis.
In her life outside of yoga, Lisa works at a school psychologist at a comprehensive high school and a continuation high school at a local school district. She is very thankful for the balance that her personal yoga practice affords her.
