For well over ten years, Lisa was drawn to the practice of hot yoga to help her work through injuries and allow her to continue other workouts she enjoyed regularly such as weight-lifting and running. She maintained a sporadic practice, practicing mostly to allow her to continue to enjoy these other forms of exercise. It wasn’t until she walked through the doors of Radiant Hot Yoga that she began to view yoga as everything she needed.
In August of 2014, Lisa took the Radiant 30 day challenge, never believing she would be able to practice yoga for 30 days straight. Her success in completing the challenge spurred her on to sign up for the Fall 2014 Radiant Teacher Training, something she did merely to deepen her practice and understanding of yoga. She had no intent to teach. Although she had taken other weekend training sessions over the years, the Radiant teacher training was quite different than anything she expected. During training, she found a true connection to yoga and the people at Radiant, and she fell in love with the very unique practice of Yin Yoga. With Yin, Lisa realized she could not only begin to heal her own body, but help heal those around her.
With the unconditional support of the teachers at Radiant, Lisa began teaching Yin and then moved on to teach hot classes as well. She is passionate about both practices, realizing the life altering effects of each – physically, mentally and spiritually. She can be found at Radiant almost daily, either practicing on her mat or motivating students to reach deeper into themselves. She knows firsthand the true benefits yoga can bring. Just ask her.
Lisa received her Yoga Alliance certification through Radiant Hot Yoga in November 2014. In her previous life, she was a securities attorney for over ten years at a national law firm. She retired to raise her three kids. She is happy to be known as a yogi now and knows she has found her true home at Radiant.
