Setting intentions for the new year by creating a healthy mind and healthy body

Have you ever set goals before and not achieved them? For 2016 I am going to teach you something new that will help you achieve more than you thought! It is important to set the right intentions for the new year including creating a healthy mind and body. When we are at one with ourselves we can focus on all the other things that come in and out of our life with more ease.

New Years resolutions

The word goals are thrown around all over the place and they are often seen as just things that are too far down the line. We need a plan of action if we ever want to achieve something. That is why I have decided to use the word objectives! So what are your objectives for 2016?

To help you achieve your objectives we have to look at what needs to be done to getting them. This is where I love this new word, COMMITMENTS! It has totally changed my thinking around and when you change your mindset, you change your life! For this year I have decided to write down what my commitments are. When you commit to something and you keep doing it positive results are inevitable!

Healthy body and healthy mind

Having a healthy body and mind is the foundation to a happy and fulfilling life. It will get you clear on what your intentions are for the future. Radiant Hot Yoga allows you to go deep into your yoga practice which strengthens and challenges you along the process. The studio gives you the environment that you need to grow, let go of things that do not serve you and get your intentions set for the day. Starting your day, ending it, or anything in-between with a practice at Radiant is only going to benefit your wellbeing and focus on a healthy mind and body.

Exercise for one relives stress and anxiety. There are so many benefits to hot yoga that help with your mind and body. Make sure that for 2016 you are committed to going to class and reaping all those benefits 3-5 times a week.

When we achieve our objectives by following our commitments we get what we want and become who we want to be! Take a minute today and write down what you are committed to do and why.

  • How many times are you going to work on your practice each week?
  • What is the reason you want to commit?

Think about all areas of your world. Your personal life, what your finances look life, social life, how you are spiritually and physically. Share them with friends and family that will hold you accountable for your actions in 2016!

Teacher Training At Radiant

There is not one person who has been through the Radiant Teacher Training that has not been enlightened by the experience. This is what makes the teacher training so unique as its more about going deep into your practice and learning about yourself than anything else. What a magical experience to go through where at the end you are filled with love, peace and passion for life.

Yoga is about the practice. The practice and development of the poses and nothing in this form can ever be perfect. I enjoy the peace of attending classes at Radiant because all judgment is left outside and you can be at peace with yourself. There is no competition, you get to focus on being you because that is enough.

The teacher training will allow you to be more confident in who you are, believe in yourself and your own abilities. What a magical journey you can go through in just eight weeks that will encourage you to be the best version of yourself.

Not only will you be able to go deeper into your practice and learn so much more about yoga but you will be on this journey with like minded people. Meeting new friends and sharing the same experience will create an incredible bond that you can see it in all the teachers at Radiant.

When you go through a journey of learning more about yourself you atomically have a connection with the people that you are doing it with. You are on the same page and have an understanding of one another. I very much felt this when I went on the retreat to Mexico with radiant. There was a sense of community right from the beginning that made everyone feel comfortable and at ease in this new environment. We were all on a similar journey of discovery and relaxation which meant there was an underline support system for us all.

This is exactly what the Teacher training journey will do for you and what it has to offer.

Not only will you come out learning new skills about you but your whole yoga knowledge will be broadened and on a whole new level. Yoga will never be the same for you, you will be able to practice through a new set of eyes and be able to take your knowledge back into the classroom.

The biggest gift that you will take from this is the ability to share what you have learned with others. Being an inspiration to other people and passing on your learnings gives us such purpose in our lives. When we have purpose we wake up every morning with excitement and drive for the new day.

Let your purpose be to help others in there time of need, to share with them things that you have learned at Radiant to have a positive attitude to the world.

For us to be able to look after other we must start with being able to fully look after ourselves. It is important to give yourself the gift of personal enrichment so that you can be the best version of you and make the biggest impact on those around you.

The training that you will receive from Radiant will have a life long effect on you and the changes it can make within yourself to enrich you will be unforgettable. Give yourself the gift of teacher training, give yourself the gift to further your practice and to fill your life to the fullest. It is great timing as the new teacher training starts in January.

The training starts on January Friday 15th, consisting of 8 weeks that take you through to March Sunday 13th.

You’ve seen it before. A room full of people siting around, legs crossed, chanting Om. You stand there wondering what this funny sound means and if something like this could be for you. Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years and its benefits transcend time. Its purpose is to reconnect you to who you truly are in order to live a happy, joyful, purposeful and fulfilling life.

In essence, to be the best version of you! That funny sound represents silence and enlightenment, and is meant to calm your mind and create a peaceful environment. Most people when they first try meditation, they sit crossed legged, start to fidget, get anxious and so many thoughts run through their head that they tend to think they are not doing it right and then abandon the practice before they even start. Here are a few reasons you might want to give it a go!

You’ve heard this before, but studies have shown that meditation permanently affects people so that they are better able to regulate their emotions. Meditation Is Good Cardio

What?! Meditation is good cardio?! Yes it is! Even though you are sitting still, actually perfectly still, meditation causes the nitric acid levels in your blood to drop, therefore causing blood pressure to drop, just like a good run on the treadmill would do!

You may be familiar with the some of the varied techniques that are categorized by five major types of meditation which are Hindu (Mantra, Yoga, and Transcendental Meditation, practiced 15-20 minutes twice per day in a seated position with eyes closed. For more information go to www.TM.org), Chinese (Taoist and Qigong), Christian (“sitting with God” preceded by contemplative prayer), Guided Meditation (Guided Imagery and Affirmations) and Buddhist (Mindfulness, Loving Kindness and Zen Meditation).

Zen Mediation, Zazen (坐禅) means “seated Zen”, or seated meditation in Japanese. It has its roots in the Chinese Zen Buddhism (Ch’an) tradition, tracing back to Indian monk Bodhidharma (6th century CE). Zen meditation is an open awareness meditation in which you are completely aware of everything inside and outside of you without controlling anything.

Meditation is such an important part of my life. It has brought me so much inner peace and awareness, and I want you to feel those positive emotions as well.
