I can’t believe that the holidays are rolling around again! This year, I have a lot to be thankful for: relationships, my career, my health… which brings me to the topic of self-care during the holidays.
It is so important that we take care of ourselves, especially during the hustle and bustle of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the New Year. We get so caught up with buying the right presents, preparing the holiday dinners (while trying to avoid the sweets), and running around like mad that we completely neglect our own well-being, and that’s no good!
The truth is, we can’t fully embrace the holiday spirit and the closeness of loved ones if we are sick, crazed, or completed wiped out. That’s why I make it a point to amp up my self-care routine during these busy months. Throughout the year I pay attention to getting good food, managing my stress, and working out regularly.
When the holidays come around, I boost my efforts and make them a top priority! One of the things that helps to keep me grounded is visiting Radiant Hot Yoga a few days a week. This is something I need!
Practicing yoga at least three times a week helps me to sweat the stresses out, keep my body warm and loose, and bring positive energy and balance to my body and mind. Going to Radiant Hot Yoga allows me to leave my worries at the door. Once I step on that mat, I am in my space, and only good vibes are allowed!
Plus, nothing feels better than flowing through the movements in a warm room when the weather outside is getting less predictable and more dreary.
Finally, when I take care of myself, I am better able to extend love and compassion to those I care most about. I know my loved ones can definitely notice when I’m not keeping myself healthy, because I’m not very fun to be around! In fact, a great gift for the holidays that I might be stuffing friends’ stocking with is a gift card for a yoga class!
During the holiday season especially, we want to be with our friends and family, so head over to the yoga studio and get into the flow.
