How Radiant Hot Yoga changed my life... Interview with Emily O.

What benefits were you hoping to receive from your yoga practice at Radiant Hot Yoga?

I first started coming to Radiant a few months after I moved here by myself from across the country. I was feeling very lonely and my job was stressing me out. My mom encouraged me to get back to my roots and take a yoga class. I needed to calm my mind, destress and center myself internally.” – Emily O.

RHY student of February 2017 - Emily

How has Yoga and your personal practice exceeded your expectations?

I have always liked yoga, but it wasn’t until I came to Radiant did I truly fall in love with it. I actually crave my mat every single day. Physically, my body is more flexible than I’ve ever been in my life, but mentally I am so much stronger, calmer and happier than I ever thought possible.” – Emily O.

How has Yoga benefited you off the mat?

The breathing has really helped me off the mat. Whenever I feel overwhelmed, stressed or anxious, I know I can always come back to my breath. Just like in the room, my breathing has become a calming thing for me. It keeps me balanced and centered, even when life around me gets crazy!” – Emily O.

Do you notice a change in your physical, mental, emotional, and/or spiritual body, from a regular Radiant Hot Yoga practice?

I come to Radiant almost every single day. In addition to the physical changes I’ve seen in my body from the challenging workout, I have noticed so much internal change from the “work in”. My emotional, spiritual and mental health has improved drastically. Not only do I feel more centered and calm, but I also feel more confident. I have a more positive outlook on situations in life, and a more relaxed mindset.

Friends and family have even noticed a difference, and it all circles back to what I’ve learned in yoga; being present and focusing on the beauty in life. There are too many beautiful, positive things happening in the world around us to be tainted by negative or anxious thoughts!” – Emily O.

Why is Radiant Hot Yoga your preferred studio/home away from home?

Radiant is most definitely my home away from home. I moved here from Ohio by myself. I knew nobody and felt very alone. At one of the most challenging times in my life, I found Radiant.

Everyone here was so welcoming and kind. I immediately felt safe here; like I finally had a place where I belonged in Newport Beach, my own little safe haven on my mat!! I have made some incredible bonds with some truly amazing people at this magical place of healing.” – Emily O.

What is your favorite yoga pose, and why?

My favorite pose is definitely standing bow. It is always so challenging for me, yet I feel so strong and confident whenever I am in it!” – Emily O.

How Radiant Hot Yoga changed my life... Interview with Sara

What benefits were you hoping to receive from your yoga practice?

I started coming to Radiant during a time in my life when I was experiencing a lot of stress during my last year of graduate school and when I was planning my wedding, and I was hoping to regain mental and physical balance. I started coming to Radiant a few times a week for the “work in” and the work out was a fantastic added benefit!” – Sara

How has yoga and your practice exceeded your expectations?

I can honestly say Radiant Hot Yoga changed my life. I feel like a different person after I leave class, calm, relaxed, happy, and refreshed! I never thought I could gain so many benefits from just an hour long class. The change in my stress level from before to after class is unbelievable…

A change you would probably only believe after trying a Radiant class.” – Sara

How has yoga benefited you off the mat?

Radiant Hot Yoga has completely changed my life off the mat as well. I have gained so much awareness and prescience in my daily life, noticing my thoughts so much more and how they affect my well being. I have also noticed a huge change in my stress and anxiety levels on a daily basis. I am happier and overall have a more positive outlook when I’m attending class regularly.” – Sara

Radiant Hot Yoga students of the month of July 2016: Sara and Adam

Do you notice a change in your physical, mental, emotional and or spiritual body from a regular yoga practice?

The biggest change I’ve noticed since coming to yoga is my mental state. I became so much calmer and less stressed after I became a regular Radiant yogi. My mind stopped racing and I became so much more at peace. I also noticed huge changes in my physical shape – going to Radiant regularly has given me my best body ever!” – Sara

Have you tried other styles of yoga? What makes Radiant Hot Yoga your preferred studio?

I’ve tried many different yoga classes, from Bikram to Vinyasa. Nothing even compares to Radiant in my opinion. One of the best things about Radiant is the amazing, kind, loving staff. I feel at home and with family when I walk into Radiant. They all truly care and make an effort to know their students.

Radiant’s classes are also different in that you feel so comfortable during class, not focused on competing with others in the class and being able to focus on yourself. I can’t imagine going to any other yoga studio!” – Sara

How has yoga and your practice exceeded your expectations?

My first goal was to get a good workout as a regular part of my week. But yoga is a lot more than just a workout. It has provided me with consistent time throughout the week where I can unplug and mentally reset.” – Adam

How has yoga benefited you off the mat?

Yoga has helped me relax and to put things into a new perspective in my daily life. It’s a phenomenal workout and “ work in” as Radiant calls it. My days are much more productive and fulfilling after investing time in my physical and mental shape through yoga.” – Adam

Have you tried other styles of yoga? What makes Radiant Hot Yoga your preferred studio?

I’ve been practicing hot yoga for over 5 years. I’ve tried other types of yoga along the way but they haven’t provided the physical and mental needs that I am looking for. Radiant Hot Yoga is without a doubt the best yoga studio that I have experienced. The environment, staff and practice are stellar!” – Adam

How Radiant Hot Yoga changed my life... Interview with Jeremy Favis

What benefits were you hoping to receive from your yoga practice?

When I first started at Radiant I wanted to experience a studio dedicated to hot yoga. I had heard that it was very challenging but also very rewarding, and that is exactly what it is and continues to be.” – Jeremy

RHY student of April 2016, Jeremy Favis

How has yoga and your practice exceeded your expectations?

I honestly didn’t think I would love it so much.  Making it through a class is physically and mentally challenging.  The fast pace and focus on mastering a specific set of postures keeps me interested and makes each savasana all the more rewarding.” – Jeremy

RHY student of April 2016, Jeremy Favis

How has yoga benefited you off the mat?

I have more patience & less stress off the mat. It’s a great way to end the day and flush everything out with the heat.” – Jeremy

RHY student of April 2016, Jeremy Favis

Do you notice a change in your physical, mental, emotional and or spiritual body from a regular yoga practice?

Absolutely. I feel a mental, emotional, and spiritual peace after each practice. I still can’t put my finger on it, but something happens – something is released in the sweat that pours out of us in each class.  The crazy thing is before Radiant, I was not a heat person at all.  Now I put up with heat a lot better and as far as yoga goes – I crave it.  I’ve also changed the way I think about exercise.

Before, I exercised not because I liked it but because I thought I needed it. Now, every day is different, with each offering a new awareness of my body.” – Jeremy

RHY student of April 2016, Jeremy Favis

Have you tried other styles of yoga? What makes Radiant Hot Yoga your preferred place of practice?

I’ve done non-heated and heated yoga in the past, and usually gravitated towards the heated classes – I just really like a challenge!  What makes Radiant Hot Yoga my preferred studio is the structure of the classes, the positive energy, friendly members, and the team of caring and passionate teachers who are some of the best people I’ve ever met.” – Jeremy

Have you tried other styles of yoga? What makes Radiant Hot Yoga your preferred place of practice?

I have tried Bikram as well as a number of other types of workouts. I have played sports, mixed martial arts, running, gyms. Radiant Hot Yoga is the first thing that I have felt connected to, and it is something that I look forward to everyday. And of course the environment is so special and       welcoming. Both the employees and the students are such sweet people.” – Melanie

Meet one of Radiant Hot Yoga's inspiring teachers Lisa G.

When and why did you begin practicing yoga?

I was an avid runner for years, but due to many injuries I needed to find something that was non-harming to my body yet still felt like exercise. With hot yoga I found I could recreate the same feeling I got from running and do it in a gentler way for my joints.  And the peace and calm I found at the end of each practice was unparalleled.” – Lisa

Lisa Good, RHY Teacher of March, 2016

What was your first experience like?

My first yoga experience was in a Bikram studio and I felt like I was going to die half way through the series.  I had to lay down and just try to get through the heat.  But something about the challenge made me come back and try to master the heat again and through my persistence I fell in love with the practice.” – Lisa

When did you know you wanted to be a yoga instructor?

I didn’t know I wanted to be a teacher until the end of Teacher Training.  I entered teacher training purely with a desire to deepen my yoga practice and my understanding of yoga principles.

I never knew I had a teacher inside me! But at some point during training when I stood up to teach something clicked inside me and I knew I had a passion for teaching. Once I taught my first real class I was completely hooked.” – Lisa

Lisa Good, RHY Teacher of March, 2016

What did Teacher Training mean to you and what did it do for you?

I learned so much about myself and found I could actually command a room. I had always had the “behind-the-scenes” type of personality – never wanting to stand out in a crowd or be noticed. Standing up in front of a room full of my yoga peers really took a lot of strength and I found I enjoyed growing that new part of me.” – Lisa

What is the one thing about Teacher Training that still resonates with you?

One thing that will always stick in my mind from Teacher training was living the ideal that we should always reach for our dreams and never give up. We are all capable of accomplishing goals we thought unattainable.” – Lisa

How necessary is your yoga practice to you?

I always say “I am the Tin Man and Yoga is my oil. Without a regular yoga practice, I cannot easily move my joints and limbs due to so much injury. Yoga keeps me moving, feeling young and healthy and it keeps my mind more attuned.

And like the Tin Man – I have found my heart in yoga.” – Lisa

Lisa Good, RHY Teacher of March, 2016

What do you feel is the personality and energy you bring to your classes?

I think my personality lends itself to a fun, high energy class.  However I also stress mindfulness. I ask my students to practice mindfully and consciously while still having fun and pushing themselves.

I care very much about my students and I want them to get the best and deepest practice possible, but without harming themselves. At the close of class I try to impart a little bit of wisdom about life and how it mirrors our yoga practice.” – Lisa

What has changed the most about you now that you are teaching?

Teaching has helped me find my voice. I have more confidence and am more capable of speaking my views than I was before teaching. I know that in the hot room what I say matters to my students and I try to prepare messages that are both relevant to what is going on in our world and yet spiritual and inspiring.” – Lisa

What are a few of your favorite things to do outside of yoga?

My favorite activity is skiing – mostly moguls, but cruising down a beautiful, groomed slope can be fun too. I love hanging with my family, my dogs, reading and being surrounded by great friends.” – Lisa

How Radiant Hot Yoga changed my life... Interview with Rebecca

What benefits were you hoping to receive from your yoga practice?

Before I started at Radiant, I was constantly feeling tight and sore from other activities. It was making me feel so old! I promised myself in 2015, I was going to try Yoga in hopes of feeling better.  It has been life changing! I seriously live pain free and feel the best I have in 10 years.” – Rebecca

Radiant student of the month February 2016: Rebecca Anderson

How has yoga and your practice exceeded your expectations?

Honestly, I did not think it would become such a big part of my life. I crave it and need it in my life now.” – Rebecca

How has yoga benefitted you off the mat?

Not only does my body feel so much stronger but it has helped my stress level incredibly! Often times, I walk into Radiant with my mind going crazy with stressful and confrontational work issues and after the class ends, all of that pressure and stress is gone. It actually has helped me to become calmer, happier and overall a more productive person.

Plus, I get to spend more time with my handsome husband. He has always been a runner and I’m a swimmer, so it was rare when we actually worked out together. It’s so fun to share the same passion!” – Rebecca

Radiant student of the month February 2016: Rebecca Anderson

Do you notice a change in your physical, mental, emotional and or spiritual body from a regular yoga practice?

Absolutely Yes!

As I mentioned above, Radiant Hot Yoga has been an incredibly positive force in my life.” – Rebecca

Have you tried other styles of yoga? What makes Radiant Hot Yoga your preferred place of practice?

Yes I have tried yoga in a non heated room and actually tried Brikrham hot yoga 15 years ago once and did not like it! The very first time my daughter, Bella, brought me to Radiant, I loved it! Everyone was incredibly welcoming and positive.  It’s so rare you can find a challenging physical activity that is peaceful and non competitive. I feel so grateful I have found Radiant Hot Yoga!” – Rebecca

Meet one of Radiant Hot Yoga's inspiring teachers, Jennie

What stresses in your life lead you to yoga?

I first started hot yoga to supplement my running. I wanted to prevent injuries and try a workout that was on the opposite end of the spectrum! I loved the idea of sweating and detoxing in the hot room. However, what once started physical soon became so mental and spiritual for me. I soon needed yoga every day in order to disconnect from the outside world.

I noticed that every time I practiced, I was more at peace with my life. I was able to better handle and respond to stress, as well as become more patient and accepting of situations.” – Jennie

Radiant Hot Yoga teacher of the month of January: Jennie

What was your first experience like?

My first experience in a hot yoga room was 6 years ago in Bellevue, Washington. I was immediately hooked. I was DRENCHED in sweat. I remember laying in savasana thinking, “what just happened?” The next day I found myself day dreaming of the hot room and I knew it was going to be a lifelong addiction.” – Jennie

When did you know you wanted to be a yoga instructor?

I knew I wanted to be a yoga instructor pretty soon after I began practicing daily. I looked up to and admired all of my teachers. The messages and group intentions during class always stuck with me throughout the day. I wanted to be the person that could guide a room through a practice while inspiring them to do better in the world.” – Jennie

Radiant Hot Yoga teacher of the month of January: Jennie

What did Teacher Training mean to you and what did it do for you?

Teacher Training meant SO much to me. It was 8 weeks that I will never forget. There were a lot of highs and lows. It was a little stressful at times because I was finishing up the second semester of junior year at Chapman and I had finals. I definitely studied my dialogue more than I studied for finals! There were times that I didn’t feel like I was strong enough or ready to lead a class.

I vividly remember crying in Darlene’s arms once telling her I couldn’t do it. She told me I was going to teach, and that I was ready. Without her, I would not be the teacher I am. I pushed myself out of my comfort zones and I practiced more hours than I could count. I made SO many lifelong friends that mean the world to me. Also, I met my boyfriend, Mike Carolan.

We became dialogue buddies early on and we would meet early before teacher training and throughout the week to practice dialogue. He soon after became my boyfriend! I am forever grateful to Radiant for bringing us together.” – Jennie

What is the one thing about Teacher Training that has stuck in your mind and heart even to this day?

One thing about Teacher Training that has stuck in my mind and heart even to this day is that I truly believe if you put your mind and passion into something, anything is possible. It was not easy becoming a teacher. Being in the hot room for hours on end and practicing dialogue over and over gets exhausting. But I knew my hard work and dedication would pay off, and it truly did.” – Jennie

How necessary is your yoga practice to you even after all this time?

My yoga practice is everything to me, even after all of this time. I am a better person because of yoga. I practice what I learn on the four corners of the mat in my daily life. I cannot control what happens to me, but I can control how I react and respond to situations. On my mat I have learned patience, perseverance, compassion, and forgiveness. I am able to let go of the outside world when I am on my mat and be so connected and present within my practice.” – Jennie

Radiant Hot Yoga teacher of the month of January: Jennie

What do you feel is the personality and energy you bring to your classes?

Everyone who knows me outside of the hot room knows me as the happy, bubbly, and outgoing Jennie. They also know I am a workout freak, so I make sure to give my students a workout! In the hot room, I try and bring that same positive energy. I push my students to their limits, while encouraging them. I also love to set group intentions and come up with messages for class that are related to things going on in my life.

So many people connect with messages that are personal and students often ask me to email my messages to them after class. I also love hip-hop so I try to throw some into the flows/abs/spine whenever I can.” – Jennie

What has changed the most about you now that you are teaching?

What has changed the most about me now that I am teaching is I have a new found confidence that I didn’t know I had. Most of the students I teach are older than me, and commanding the class at 21 years old was definitely intimidating at fist. But I have grown to be so comfortable in the room, whether it be giving adjustments or making sure people don’t leave 🙂

I am also so much more mindful than I used to be. In the hot room I move with intention and connect my breath and movement. Outside of the hot room, I try my best to be aware and present at all times. Teaching has truly helped me to live in the now.” – Jennie

What are a few of your favorite things to do outside of yoga?

Outside of yoga you can probably find me at SoulCycle (take Matthew Carolan’s class), True Food, or at the gym. I also LOVE the beach, hiking, baking paleo cookies, and watching the Kardashians (my guiltiest pleasure).” – Jennie

Radiant Hot Yoga teacher of the month of January: Jennie

How Radiant Hot Yoga changed my life... Interview with Norm

What benefits were you hoping to receive from your yoga practice?

I guess there are two benefits from Yoga that I hoped to achieve, one of body and one of mind. I knew that Yoga (not hot) was a challenge and I thought that adding the heat would be both amazing for the body and the mind…. If I could stand the heat.

Being a 56 year old man, only in semi-decent shape, I knew that it was going to be tough, but I did not listen so much to my mind but more to my soul which was telling me that this was a good thing.” – Norm

RHY Student Spotlight of November - Norm Lessard

How has yoga and your practice exceeded your expectations?

When I got through my first class at Radiant Hot Yoga, I did not know for sure if I would be able to handle it. The incredible instructors at Radiant were SO positive and made me feel that I could do it and that I was doing amazing exactly where I was at!! They told me to come back as soon as I could and as often as I could…. And that is just what I have been doing. I kept coming back to Radiant and now about 1½ years later I actually crave the heated room and SO look forward to my practice.

Lately, I have had some work issues that have kept me away more then I would like, but I know that I would practice EVERYDAY, if I could!!!” – Norm

How has yoga benefitted you off the mat?

Hot Yoga gives me a feeling that I can get through anything. It can be tough in that room, but again, I don’t let it get to me, I work with it, not against it, knowing my limits. Physically I am in better shape than I have been in a long time! I breath with so much more intention!! I deal with mentally challenging items so much better…. A bit calmer.” – Norm

Do you notice a change in your physical, mental, emotional and or spiritual body from a regular yoga practice?

As I just mentioned, I absolutely feel a difference. When I am a bit pressed for time and I do not have a chance to get to my mat for my practice, I notice it physically AND mentally. I have lower back issues which I am very careful of during my practice, but yoga has made it so much stronger, I just do not have the pain like I used to!!

Mentally, I just simply start to get a bit more irritable if I am away too long. I can be a pretty hyped individual… yoga allows me the chance to be calmer… not necessarily calm…. But calmer!!” – Norm

Have you tried other styles of yoga? What makes Radiant Hot Yoga your preferred place of practice?

I practiced regular yoga about 10 or 15 years ago and I really enjoyed it then, but once I got into Hot Yoga at Radiant, I just knew that this was what I was suppose to do!!

I really do not have any intentions of practicing anywhere else. I have other people that go to other studios and do not like it as much. I know that the main reason for this is because of Darlene and her instructors. I have never felt so much love from a group before.

I usually go to the 6:00 AM class and Morgan, Stephanie and Jennie are just simply amazing…. I get to go in and get a big hug in the morning before practice and what a way to make a connection with another human being in such an awesome place. All the instructors there are nothing less then stellar!!!” – Norm

How Radiant Hot Yoga changed my life... Interview with Jenna

What benefits were you hoping to receive from your yoga practice?

I had no expectations when I started practicing yoga on a regular basis. I have always been extremely active, and at times a bit on the extreme side with exercise. By the time I started yoga as my primary form of exercise, I had run two marathons, was into heavy weight lifting, and boxing.

When I began regular yoga practice, my body was ready for the “break”, and I was at a point where I needed the mind/body connection. I discovered that the “high” from yoga was much more calm, peaceful, and easier on the body. Exactly what I needed!” – Jenna

How has yoga and your practice exceeded your expectations?

Like mentioned, I’ve always been addicted to the “high” you get from a great work out. With yoga, I get the high, I feel more balanced, relaxed and connected. My thinking is much clearer after class, plus I get to hear all the positive affirmations the teacher says for an hour! Being reminded of how limitless and purposeful I am is defiantly an added bonus!” – Jenna

RHY-student-of-month-november-jenna-lobos-1

How has yoga benefitted you off the mat?

It always amazes me what three or four sun salutations and a down dog can do! Yoga has taught me that no matter how I am feeling at any given moment, I am able to stop and do some easy poses or take some very deep breaths, to balance my body. Breathing is such a simple yet profound act for the body. I know the routine so well, I can implement this any time of the day. I am very grateful for my yoga practice for this reason.” – Jenna

Do you notice a change in your physical, mental, emotional and or spiritual body from a regular yoga practice?

Truth be told, at one time, I exercised only to look good in a bathing suit, that’s just where my mind set was. The minute I changed my mind and intention to feel good versus look good, that is when my physical body changed. It was actually when I slowed down and started yoga is when I felt and looked (in my opinion) my best. I wasn’t trying so hard. Have you ever heard the phrase: “If you are trying hard, that is ego, if it is easy, that is spirit!”?

It took me a while to fully understand this, but yes, I do notice a physical change from a regular yoga practice. My spiritual lessons have come along the way. It’s a daily practice for mental and emotional balance, and yoga does help!” – Jenna

RHY-student-of-month-november-jenna-lobos-3

Have you tried other styles of yoga? What makes Radiant Hot Yoga your preferred place of practice?

Yes, I have tried Vinyasa, Hatha and Kundalini yoga. They all serve the body differently, and I like them all, but what I love about Radiant Hot Yoga is, that it gives me the challenging work-out that I crave, the heat feels amazing to my body and the routine with the same postures allows me to stop thinking so much and be in my body, which relaxes my mind!” – Jenna

How Radiant Hot Yoga changed my life... Interview with Sanyika C.

What benefits were you hoping to receive from your yoga practice?

I’ve been consistently practicing yoga since 2007. But during most of 2013 and 2014 the challenges and distractions of my life kept me off the mat.

Yoga is one of the special places I meet God, so I knew that after I moved from the East Coast to SoCal I needed to reconnect and recommit to it.” – Sanyika

RHY-student-of-september-Sanyika-Calloway-4

How has yoga and your practice exceeded your expectations?

I love Jesus and Yoga (in that order) so when I began to refocus on my mind, body and soul connection post-divorce and after the complete shake up of life as I knew it; the only thing I could offer was a fragile heart and lots of fragmented pieces.

Daily I came to the mat and prayed, allowed the postures to represent a moving meditation and let go of what I thought would be for what actually was. I yielded, I accepted, I cried, I surrendered. From a place of weakness I found strength, courage, restoration and resolve.” – Sanyika

How has yoga benefitted you off the mat?

Most people think that I am a pretty “happy” person off the mat; sure I am happy when I get a great parking space, my hair looks cute with minimal effort, or I don’t need to wear Spanks to get into my jeans; but all those things are circumstantial. Because I connect deeply with God on the mat, yoga allows me to offer a more accurate perspective of what is perceived as “happiness,” which is that I strive to CHOOSE JOY no matter the circumstances.

Choosing JOY is gracefully accepting the version of life that you get even when it’s not the version you want because you Trust in the working together of all things for your ultimate good.” – Sanyika

Do you notice a change in your physical, mental, emotional and or spiritual body from a regular yoga practice?

My skin is glowing because I constantly sweat out toxins, my abs are tight (thanks Adham!), and my mind is clear and focused.

At 42 years old I am the most fit and functional that I’ve ever been and it just keeps getting better.” – Sanyika

Have you tried other styles of yoga? What makes Radiant Hot Yoga your preferred place of practice?

From October 2014 to now I have practiced at RHY a whopping 270 times, it wasn’t intentional at all, I just found myself on the mat at 2 or 3 times a day sometimes. Hot yoga makes me HAPPY. The Hotter the better, thanks Ericka for keeping your classes toasty, juicy, sauna like hot!

I love that at RHY mastery of a specific set of postures is the focus. When I first began the sequence, I thought I’d get board with it, but now I understand that every time I come to the mat my practice is different and there is a deeper level or enhanced variation that I can learn in the very pose that I’ve done hundreds of times. That’s exciting and challenging!

And on the rare occasions when I practice other forms of yoga or poses, I find it’s super easy to assume the postures with ease and little effort; not because I’m familiar with them, but because I have a level of mastery with the basics.

Plus, the instructors are ALL top-notch, the energy is amazing, and at Radiant Hot Yoga I have found genuine community in so so so many beautiful forms. There’s nothing NOT to love here, it gels and fits with my soul like a snug yummy sweaty pair of Lulu’s!” – Sanyika

How Radiant Hot Yoga changed my life... Interview with Tabitha R.

What benefits were you hoping to receive from your yoga practice?

I’ve always been a seeker of a good workout! My sister-in-law brought me to my first hot yoga class, and heavens to Betsy, it was quite the incredible, eye opening experience. I began the practice looking for a challenging workout that was high intensity, yet low impact.

I grew up competing in high level gymnastics which took a toll on my body, so this style of workout is a perfect fit.” – Tabitha

How has yoga and your practice exceeded your expectations?

Originally, I was just looking for a physical workout. I was looking for a type of exercise that I could add to my list of ways to stay in shape.

I now generally do hot yoga exclusively and it’s more than enough to keep not only my body in good health, but my mind as well. I am amazed at how cleansing it has been both internally and externally.” – Tabitha

How has yoga benefitted you off the mat?

Hot yoga has taught me to love who I am. I’ve always struggled with being too hard on myself. When I was a child, it was gymnastics and school, and now as an adult, it’s work and relationships…

I genuinely believe I’m a better girlfriend, aunt, sister, daughter, friend, employee and overall person because of hot yoga. I am now not only taking care of my external body, but I feel I am fueling my soul as well. During and after class I am utterly joyful. Grace and acceptance has become real to me in a whole new way as I have begun to love myself and others better.” – Tabitha

Do you notice a change in your physical, mental, emotional and or spiritual body from a regular yoga practice?

I find myself handling adversity with much more patience and ease. Physically, it has had a great impact on my skin, digestion, and metabolism. I leave yoga feeling refueled and energized.” – Tabitha

Have you tried other styles of yoga? What makes Radiant Hot Yoga your preferred place of practice?

Yes, I have tried many of the other styles but the perfect combination of balancing series with the flow/ “yoga dance party” makes yoga at Radiant my favorite. The music, support, and motivation from the teachers pump me up! As an adult, I believe that it’s rare to find a place like Radiant where the teachers are pouring their hearts into the students the way they do.

Whether it’s the welcoming smile you encounter at the front desk, the hugs and chatter while awaiting class to start, or the inspiration they share with the class… It’s all rather life changing. Each teacher leaves me with the encouragement to want to be a better person the moment I walk out the door. Love, change, acceptance, empowerment, and connection are just a few of the things illustrated to the students!

After moving to California from Tennnesse, I find myself constantly missing my family, but the one I have found at Radiant has blessed me beyond belief. I can’t thank Radiant enough for being such a safe, fun, and beautiful environment for all of us.

I feel truly honored to belong to such an extraordinary studio and community.” – Tabitha
