I am a native Californian and have always enjoyed an active lifestyle. I started practicing yoga when my body literally told me to stop the conventional forms of exercising that is so punishing. I fell in love with yoga right away and have been practicing consistently for over 16 years. What I have learned is that I crave the mental satisfaction more than the physical. I have always operated at a high level of intensity and I deeply depend on the caring and soothing nature that yoga gives to my mind, body and soul.
I have a degree in Industrial Engineering and developed and enjoyed a career in software sales. After ten years of marriage my husband decided to start his own business and asked me to help him run the company. The business succeeded for many years reaching over $5 million in sales. But when the economy crashed our business did as well and this caused great unrest in my life and tested my resolve to the bone.
The one thing that never changed was my yoga practice. After several years of struggle and loss I walked through the doors of Radiant and found something so special and so unique that I had yet to ever experience at any other yoga studio, I found a home.
I had the wonderful opportunity to participate in teacher training during the Fall of 2014. The teacher training program turned out to be one of the most rewarding and positive experiences of my life. Darlene provided a journey of self that was 10 times richer than what I expected it would be. Towards the end of the eight-week session Darlene asked if I would be interested in working by her side dealing with the business aspects of the studio. I thought the opportunity would be a wonderful way to use my business experience in an industry that I was so passionate about.
I have had the honor and blessing of working along Darlene’s side by helping her manage the studio as well as grow her business. Being a part of her vision which is to provide a place of healing and connecting for individuals through the gift of yoga is a dream come true for me.
